Metal stamping processes

Are you a lover of all things shiny and metallic- from toy cars to expensive jewellery? It turns out, that stuff is probably metal stamped! In this guide, we will delve into how it works and why you should do so.

Metal stamping is a particular metal forming method. Because they are machines, their weight is pressed into a flat piece of metal to make various shapes or patterns. As with cutting cookie dough in fun shapes using a cookie cutter! We are using metal to make some awesome things, not dough! This way we can create many objects from metal, for instance car parts, machine elements and even toys.

Understanding Metal Stamping Processes

Metal stamping is a very meticulous process that involves great skills and years of experience. Once done with that we will be cutting the metal out of something using a shearing machine. This equipment allows us to prep the steel for punching. This is an example of a sheet metal with the cut and clamped on to a die. The die as a mold to press the metal. The metal gets squished where we want it to so when the press machine comes and pushes on the metal, it shapes into what shape we need. We move on and run the metal through another machine that takes out all of those imperfections, giving them a nice shine.
